The Roles of an Advocate
At the Disability Advocacy Network Inc the main roles of an advocate are to:
- help and support our targeted service users to access the services they want to use
- help and support our targeted service users to establish what they want the Advocate to do
- help and support our targeted service users to make their own choices
- help and support our targeted service users to know their rights and responsibilities
- help and support our targeted service users to have their privacy and dignity respected
- help and support our targeted service users to be part of the community
- help and support our targeted service users to develop their skills
- make appropriate referrals to other agencies.
